Many downtown buildings have been hit by graffiti in recent days.

Eight police reports came out Wednesday documenting graffiti painted since March 17 on buildings and utility boxes ranging from the 700 block of Vermont Street to the 1000 block of New Hampshire Street. Total damage from the vandalism was estimated at more than $1,300.

More reports could be coming in days ahead. Tracy Kihm, business administrator at First United Methodist Church, 946 Vt., said police called the church on Wednesday to notify it of graffiti on the north and east side of the building that wasn’t included in Wednesday’s batch of police reports.
