¢ Youth Softball, Baseball: Registration deadline for the city’s youth baseball, softball and blastball programs is April 13. Forms are available at all rec centers and at www.lprd.org. For information, call 832-7940.
¢ WTT to Begin: The World Team Tennis spring league will begin next week with two skill divisions available. The 3.5 session will be Sundays at 6:30 p.m. and the 4.0 division will be Tuesdays at 7 p.m. For information, call Bud Pettit at 841-8013 or e-mail bpettit@sunflower.com.
¢ Houk League Trials: Tryouts for Houk League baseball for youths ages 13-14 will be Saturday and Sunday at Holcom Complex. Registration forms are available at the Holcom Rec Center on at www.lprd.org. For information, call Mike Mattan at 760-0194.
¢ SJHS Basketball: It’s not too early to register for the South Junior High summer basketball camp scheduled May 30-June 2. For information, call Scott Petry at 832-5450.
¢ City Volleyball: The city will take registrations until Friday for its adult spring volleyball program. For information, call 832-7920 or go to www.lprd.org.
¢ Dam Run Records: Stan Skwarlo and Fran Breslauer, both of Lawrence, and Winchester’s Jay O’Neill established state 12K age-group records in Saturday’s Dam Run. O’Neill was clocked in 49:07 in the men’s ages 50-54 compilation, Skwarlo 1:00.31 in the boys U-12 and Breslauer 1:11.24 in the women’s 65-69 category. Also, Rob Rosasro of Lawrence broke the 5K course record with a time of 16:06.
¢ State Mat Standouts: Brandon Goodwin of the Lawrence Coyotes placed third and teammate Chris Berg earned a fifth place in last weekend’s Kansas Kids Wrestling tournament in Topeka.
¢ Wrestling Gold: Bryce Shoemaker of Baldwin Wrestling Club earned a gold medal at last weekend’s Kansas Kids Wrestling tournament in Topeka. Teammates Jack Mitchell and Jon Pratt collected a second- and third-place respectively. Dylan Housworth left with a fourth-place and Colin Busby a sixth.
¢ Gleason Hole-in-One: Ken Gleason used a six-iron Tuesday to ace the 150-yard No. 15 hole at Alvamar Country Club. Witnesses were Larry Brock, Dick Barton and Wayne Postoak.
¢ Raintree Run: Entries are still being accepted for the Raintree Run half marathon, 5k and mile fun run on April 9. Late registration will continue until 7:30 a.m. on race day. For information, go to www.raintreerun.com.

¢ Eagle Bend Lessons: Eagle Bend Golf Course is offering April golf lessons for adults. Classes will be at 6 p.m. – on Wednesdays for advanced and on Thursdays for beginners, starting next week.
