Firearms program for women slated

On April 8, the National Rifle Association’s Women On Target program will conduct an event at the Fancy Creek Range in the Tuttle Creek State Park, near Randolph.

The program is open to women 16 and older.

Participants will be given instruction in rifle, handgun and shotgun shooting. No experience is necessary, but shooters of all levels are welcome.

Firearms and ammunition will be provided. Certified instructors and range-safety officers will be on duty.

Moms with school-age children need not worry. Volunteers will supervise a program for the youngsters in the park adjoining the range.

The fee is $15, but two friends may register together for $20. For information, call (785) 532-7409 or e-mail frodo@kansas.net.

The registration fee covers instruction, range fees, firearms, ammunition, targets, eye and ear protection, snacks and lunch. Attendance is limited.
