Slow climb to spring begins

It’s still unseasonably chilly, but temperatures finally climb out of the 30s today.

Scattered clouds and winds combine to make certain things won’t get too balmy, though.

At 9:25 a.m., the temperature was 33 degrees, with humidity of 72% and winds out of the west northwest at 10 mph.

Although spring began on Monday, high temperatures have been nearly 20 degrees below average. Today’s high will be 43, with clear skies ahead.

After an overnight low of 24 degrees, temperatures should reach 45 tomorrow. Saturday also promises to be sunny, with temperatures of 49 degrees, leading to a high of 56 degrees on Sunday. Some rain may appear early next week.

March precipitation has already risen above the monthly average by .04 inches, although the region remains drier than usual.
