Warm day will be followed by cooler week

The skies will be slightly cloudy and breezy today, which promises to be warmer than the rest of the week.

Matt Sayers, 6News meteorologist, said, “We’re starting out with temperatures fairly cool, warming this afternoon to above average temperatures in the 60s.”

At 8:22 this morning, the temperature was 37 degrees, humidity was 67%, and light winds from the East at 6 mph. Average temperature for this date is 57 degrees, with the record high of 87 degrees set in 1914, and the record low of 8 degrees set in 1949.

“Quiet day today as far as storms go,” said Sayers. “But winds will be picking up today.” The forecast high is 65 degrees, with strong southerly winds around 15 to 25 mph. There may be high clouds later on in the day, which signals the start of a system moving into the area.

Temperatures will be cooler tomorrow, with a high of 53 and strong winds ahead. The end of the week will continue to be below average, with highs in the 40s, lows near freezing, and a chance of showers over the weekend. There is the possibility of snow on Monday.
