Washington again ends skid at Detroit's expense

? If nothing else, the Washington Wizards can beat the Detroit Pistons.

For the second time this season, the Wizards broke out of a slump by beating the NBA’s top team. Gilbert Arenas scored 34 points in Saturday night’s 110-92 victory.

“After the game, we said, ‘Why can’t we play like this for 21 more games? With that sort of effort, that sort of discipline, that sort of force,”‘ Wizards coach Eddie Jordan said. “That’s the challenge we’ll have every night.”

The Wizards ended a five-game losing streak by beating Detroit in two overtimes Nov. 25, and they still are the only Eastern Conference team with a road victory over the Pistons. On Saturday, the Wizards ended a 1-5 slide and kept themselves from moving below .500.

Rasheed Wallace scored 18, and Richard Hamilton had 16 for the Pistons.

Orlando, Fla. – Hedo Turkoglu scored 21 points and tied his career high with 14 rebounds as Orlando beat Golden State.

Phoenix – Steve Nash tied his season high with 31 points and added 11 assists in his return to the lineup as Phoenix beat Minnesota.

Clippers 106, Bucks 98

Milwaukee – Chris Kaman and Elton Brand scored 22 points apiece to lead Los Angeles.

Bulls 95, Hawks 90

Atlanta – Luol Deng had 21 points as Chicago snapped a two-game losing streak.

Mavericks 90, Jazz 87

Salt Lake City – Dirk Nowitzki scored 34 points, including 12 in a decisive stretch of the fourth quarter as Dallas pulled away from Utah.
