The Journal-World sports section was named one of the top 10 Sunday sections in the country by the Associated Press Sports Editors in its yearly contest.

Competing in the under-40,000 circulation category, the Journal-World was honored along with the Altoona (Pa.) Mirror, Athens (Ga.) Banner-Herald; Glens Falls (N.Y.) Post-Star; Jackson (Tenn.) Sun; Kitsap Sun, (Bremerton, Wash.); Longmont (Colo.) Daily Times-Call; Longview (Wash.) Daily News; Nashua (N.H.) Telegraph; and Northwest Herald (Crystal Lake, Ill.).

The Journal-World also was one of 10 papers to receive honorable mention for its daily section.

It marks the third time in the last four years the Journal-World has garnered a top-10 finish in at least one section category.
