Body of missing worker in plant fire recovered

? A plant worker missing since a fire broke out in a 100-story smokestack over the weekend was found dead on Monday, officials said.

Gerald W. Talbert, 27, was part of a crew installing fiberglass lining inside the giant chimney at the plant south of Moundsville when the blaze erupted Saturday night.

Spokesman Scott Greenhaus said Talbert had just moved his pregnant wife and two small children from Wheatland, Ind. The company said he had worked for Kansas City, Mo.-based Pullman Power LLC since June.

Three co-workers were plucked from atop the smokestack in a dramatic helicopter rescue after being trapped for about two hours above the flames at American Electric Power’s Kammer-Mitchell plant about 70 miles south of Pittsburgh.

Officials have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
