KU softball tops Tulsa, wins title
TULSA, OKLA. ? Serena Settlemier struck out six and surrendered three earned runs over 62â3 innings and helped her cause with two hits, two runs and two RBIs as Kansas University beat Tulsa, 6-3, Sunday at the Best Western Airport Festival.
KU (9-10 overall) improved to 4-1 at the weekend tourney to win the title.
Settlemier improved to 5-3 on the mound. Kassie Humphreys coaxed a game-ending groundout to notch her first save.
One of Settlemier’s two hits was a home run.
Kansas, which concluded a 19-game, month-long road trip, scored two runs in each the first, fifth and seventh innings.
The Jayhawks collected eight hits off Maren Genow (6-1).
KU will play host to Missouri State on Wednesday. First pitch is 2 p.m. at Arrocha Ballpark.
