KU research building to be dedicated

Kansas University’s new Multidisciplinary Research Building will be formally dedicated at 10 a.m. Monday at the building, 2030 Becker Drive, west of the Simons and Structural Biology Center buildings, off 21st and Iowa streets.

Chancellor Robert Hemenway, Regent President Donna Shank, Rep. Dennis Moore, Vice Provost for Research Jim Roberts and professor of pharmaceutical chemistry Susan Lunte are expected to attend the dedication.

There will be an open house for faculty, staff, students and the public from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The $40 million, 106,000-square-foot building was completed in December and is the latest addition to KU’s growing research complex on west campus.
