Police are investigating a 38-year-old woman’s report that she was raped during the weekend inside her central Lawrence home.

The woman told police she had been in an argument with the suspect, a 45-year-old man, before he threw her to the ground and raped her around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

She was injured in the alleged assault and was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Police interviewed the suspect, but he was not arrested.

The report has been sent to Dist. Atty. Charles Branson’s office for consideration of criminal charges.
