Old home town – 25 years ago today

The drought here was officially broken. The area had registered more than 15 inches of rain since May 1 and farmers were currently complaining about too much moisture, which was hampering the planting of milo and soybeans. The wheat harvest was also being badly impeded by the heavy rains.

The city commission and city-county planning commission continued their tug-of-war over floodplain restrictions and regulations.
