From the Lawrence Daily World for June 29, 1906: “The police drag net failed to catch a single drunk last night, consequently the police court docket was empty today. However, in county court, Jake Washington was found not guilty when it was learned he had not been violating any fishing laws as wardens had charged. It turns out the wardens were not properly familiar with the rules and it is a bad reflection on them that they took Washington to court and then were so poorly prepared. : The expected draft of W.R.
