Three teams earned big points branding calves and loading trailers Saturday with the hopes of attending rodeo’s National Finals at the American Royal in Kansas City, Mo., this October.

Judges at the Women’s Ranch Rodeo Assn. Qualifying Rodeo at Stinson Creek Cattle Ranch near Stull gave out points for the fastest times in five separate events. Eleven teams competed Saturday.

First place went to Stephens Quarter Horses from Valley Falls. The team from Madison Cattle in Fort Scott earned second, while Tee Jay Quarter Horses out of Canton won third place.
