Boy Scout Troop 53, chartered to Christ Community Church of Lawrence, had its Spring Court of Honor on June 5.
The following Scouts received their Scout rank from Mitch Yulich, scoutmaster: John Abney, Alex Clabaugh, Andrei Elliot, Elliot Klapp, Atticus Madden, Sean Morris, Joseph Waisner, Patrick Bennett, Jordan Cuttell, Gavin Fischer, John Lange, John McCain, Jordan Riescheck, Connor Chestnut, Jonathon Darnall, James Hall, Luke Lesslie, Brian Morris, Joshua Saathoff. Jonathan Darnall, Luke Lesslie and Joseph Waisner also received their Tenderfoot rank.
The following Scouts received their First Class Rank: Joshua Ideus, Patrick Shields, Peter Lesslie and Ryan Schulteis. Zac Chumbley received the Star Rank, and Zak Stremel the Life Rank.
The following boys earned 26 merit badges between them: Chris Berger, Nick Chance, John Chumbley, Dawson Conway, Joey Cunningham, Devon Griffin, Joshua Ideus, Jimmy Kelly, Stephen May, Evan Mielke, Justin Saathoff, Trenton Shambaugh, Patrick Shields, Zak Stremel, David Teefey and Jordan Yulich.
Cub Scout Pack 3055, chartered to Westside Presbyterian Church, participated in the recent Pelathe District Cub Scout Day Camp. Cubs who participated were Brandon Ellis, Henry Helms, Sam Kendrick, Tyler Kendrick, Jay Milliken, Benjamin Ozonoff, Michael Pate, John Ross, Tyler Sampson and Gavin Spence. Adult members who served as walk-on leaders and camp staff were Chuck Ozonoff, Jack Pate, Laura Ross, Diane Sampson and Bryan Spence.
The pack had a family campout June 17-18 at Camp Bromelsick. Cubs in attendance were Will Dalager, Sam Kendrick, Tyler Kendrick, William Lenz, Tyler Sampson and Gavin Spence.
William Lenz, Sam Kendrick and Tyler Kendrick earned fishing belt loops. William Lenz and Tyler Kendrick also earned a Master Angler patch.
Will Dalager, Tyler Sampson and Gavin Spence camped overnight. Adults who attended the weekend activities were Kris Dalager, David Kendrick, Lynnie Kendrick, Mark Lenz, Gayle Miguel, Diane Sampson, Becky Spence and Bryan Spence. Ellen, Evan, Sarah and Steven Dalager and Nick Crow also participated.
