¢ Rebels Champs: Kansas Rebels U-11 won a tournament last weekend in Basehor. Team members are Matt Baker, Jacob Caldwell, Garrick Clapp, Alex Green, Drew Green, Drake Hofer, Rigby McClure, Kyle McFarland, Cody Scott, Stan Skwarlo, C.J. Stuever and Shane Willoughby. Coaches are Joe Caldwell, Darren McClure, Kevin Stuever and Mike Willoughby.

¢ Aquhawks Gold: Emma Reaney of the Lawrence Aquahawks won seven gold medals at a swim meet in Topeka. Also, Canaan Campbell earned six golds, Maddie McCaffrey five and Courtney Caldwell four. Cierra Campbell paced the Aquahawks at another meet at LIAC with four golds. Canaan Campbell, Reese Grabill and Ben Sloan notched three first-places apiece.

¢ Pirates Titlists: Lawrence Pirates U-14 baseball won a tournament last weekend in Topeka. Team members are Eric McCarthy, Dustin Walthall, Seth Dirks-Ham, Jake Brown, Cory Deig, Nick Dunkle, Bo Schneider, Alex Hall, Joey Sakamura, Zeph Wiggins and Chase Billings. Coaches are Mark McCarthy, Brad Harker and Aaron Wilmes.

¢ LAGA Tourneys: Lawrence Amateur Golf Assn. will stage its Men’s Open, Senior Open and Women’s Open July 8 at Eagle Bend and July 9 at Alvamar. For information, go to www.lawrencegolf.org. Entry forms are available at Golf USA.

¢ Phenix Champs: Lawrence Phenix U-14 girls softball won a weekend tournament in Kansas City, Mo. Team members are Anna Mages, Kylee Mader, Haley Finucane, Calleigh Durr, Tracy Weege, Allison Hoover, Madison Oller, Bailey Scott, Lexi Smith, Taylor Manning, Kacie Welborn, Allison Ice, Jamie Morgison and Maddy Wilson. Coaches are Bill Finucane, Lee Ice and Marv Oller.

¢ Roberts Fires 70: Conrad Roberts fired a two-under-par 70 for the lowest posted score in the weekly Jayhawk Golf Club tournament Saturday at Alvamar. Van Reichert carded a 74, and Chris Anderson and Robert Werling both shot 75. In net scoring, Neal Ezell was low with a 64, followed by Duane Dickson, John Charnes and Ted Johnson, all at 68. Dirk Wedd shot 70.

¢ Swank Double-Eagle: Michael Swank, a 14-year-old West Junior High student, recorded a double-eagle on the par-five No. 12 hole Tuesday at Eagle Bend Golf Course. Swank holed a shot from 225 yards.
