Skilling asks judge to overturn conviction

? Try, try again.

Former Enron Corp. President Jeffrey Skilling has asked a judge to overturn a jury’s verdict that found him guilty of 19 counts in the energy company’s collapse.

“In short, the evidence presented at trial was legally insufficient as to every element of every count in dispute,” said the motion, filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Houston.

The motion, filed by Skilling lawyer Daniel Petrocelli, said if the charges aren’t dropped, the court should throw out the verdicts and order a new trial.
