Kline to kick off re-election campaign

? Atty. Gen. Phill Kline will kick off his re-election campaign next week with rallies in nine cities over two days.

Kline, a Republican, is seeking his second term. The only other candidate to file is Johnson County Dist. Atty. Paul Morrison, who switched parties last year to run as a Democrat.

Kline’s first event is at 9 a.m. Monday at Memorial Hall in downtown Topeka, near the Statehouse, where the attorney general has his office. He’ll file first before the noon deadline.

He also plans stops that day in Olathe, Pittsburg, Wichita and Garden City. On Tuesday, he will be in Liberal, Colby, Hays and Salina.
