African AIDS activist visiting Lawrence

A Zambian man who is HIV-positive will speak about African health issues Monday during a presentation in Lawrence.

Winstone Zulu, an activist with the international organization Results, will speak at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 2415 Clinton Parkway.

Zulu is on a nationwide speaking tour, talking about his own experiences with HIV and the death of four brothers from tuberculosis.

Gallery plans marathon Bible-reading session

Wanted: Bible readers.

Signs of Life, the art gallery and bookstore at 722 Mass., will be hosting a cover-to-cover reading of the Bible starting sunrise June 19 and running through sundown June 24.

To do that, the shop is looking for readers to sign up for one-hour time slots to read the Good Book, which will take about 80 hours.
