FCE and 4-H news

Stull Family and Community Education unit will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Illuminated Glass in Stull. The lesson will be "Glass Blowing." Members should bring a nonperishable food item for donation.

The Four Leaf Clover 4-H Club met May 8 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Jessica Gibler, president, called the meeting to order. Roll call was answered by "I can do 100 ... ."

The Douglas County Fair book is online this year. The Web site is Members were reminded that the deadline for pre-entering fair projects is June 30. There will be a scarecrow contest and a birthday cake contest at the fair this year.

The club will be participating in Relay for Life, which is June 9-10. The arts and crafts group will make luminaries, the foods group will make snacks, and the clothing group will make the banner.

The clothing group gave a project talk on how to sew on a button. For recreation Louis Hamel led the club in playing "Red Light, Green Light."

The next meeting will be at 7:15 p.m. June 12 at in Building 1 at the fairgrounds.
