There were 446 members of the Lawrence High School graduating class of 1966.
Lawrence Memorial Hospital increased daily service charges about $2. Most semi-private rooms went from $17 to $19 and delivery room charges rose from $30 to $40. The move was to boost revenue about $93,000 annually, according to administrator Rodger Johnson.
The city commission planned to encourage underground utility installations in new housing and business divisions to improve efficiency and appearance.
