Women interested in hunting should circle Aug. 5 on their calendars.

A free Women on Target clinic is scheduled that day at Sportman’s Acres near Junction City. All women 16 and older will receive a free T-shirt.

Certified instructors will teach the basics of the shooting sports, including air pistol, .22 caliber rifle, shotgun, black powder and archery. All equipment and ammunition will be provided free.

In addition, an NRA “Refuse to be a Victim” presentation will be given during the free lunch period.
