Police are seeking the public's help in solving a violent, caught-on-camera attack - against a fiberglass Jayhawk.

Lawrence Police on Friday released surveillance video from an incident early July 16 outside Jayhawk Bookstore, 1420 Crescent Road, in which a group of people ripped the "Bit o' Hawk" statue off its base, sawed off one of its legs and took it with them.

The video can be seen online at www.ljworld.com. Anyone who can identify the suspects or has other information about the crime is asked to call the Crime Stoppers hot line at 843-TIPS.

The only difference is KU/Frat boys care about doing something this stupid, idiot teenagers are still trying to figure out how to tie there shoes and keep their baggy pants from falling off. Are you feeling me?

a2thek: I hear a lot about idiot teenagers destroying property and stealing in Lawrence. KU/Frat boys are far from being the only suspects.

What kind of lowlife moronic scum would dare do such a thing to one of our jayhawks!

Well, I would take a look at it. But the link is broken.

Ragingbear, I suggested the staff remove your post, NOT because of the content (it's fine), but in the hope someone will review your comments and fix the link! I too would like to view it. Forgive me if they blindly remove it without review.

I watched the vidio and I guess that this is either KU or some type of frat boys but I could be wrong on this. They are the only ones that come into our town and act like they have lived here there whole life and dont respect anything. HEre is the deal, I bet these kids will talk about it and besides where are they going to put the bid old thing before someone blows the whistle on them. Next thing you know it will get thrown in Potters Lake, thats where they seem to put everything else. Or you might here about it showing up in Columbia or Manhattan as these two towns love Jayhawks. You seemed to forget one thing, college kids are hurting for money so I could almost guarantee you that if you offered up some sum of money you could get immediate results.
