Ex-group home worker may face second trial
A former group home worker charged with physically abusing a mentally disabled client could stand trial a second time.
A jury acquitted Dustin D. Taylor of some charges at a trial earlier this summer and couldn’t reach a verdict on others.
Atty. Gen. Phill Kline’s office has filed notice that it plans to try Taylor again on the charges for which jurors couldn’t reach a verdict.
But Taylor’s attorney, Paul Davis, said in court Wednesday that he plans to fight the request.
A hearing on the case is scheduled for Sept. 22.
