Indians rough up Rogers early
Cleveland ? Kenny Rogers didn’t make it out of the first inning Tuesday night when Cleveland scored seven runs, and the Indians held off the Detroit Tigers long enough for a 12-7 victory.
Rogers (11-4) walked three and didn’t retire any of the first seven hitters while being roughed up for a season-high seven runs and five hits in his shortest outing in more than 13 years.

Seattle – Roy Halladay allowed two earned runs over seven innings and got plenty of support as Toronto snapped Seattle’s three-game winning streak.

Chicago – Johan Santana outpitched Jose Contreras, and Jason Bartlett hit a three-run homer as surging Minnesota pulled within a game of slumping Chicago.
Devil Rays 6, Angels 3
St. Petersburg, Fla. – Ty Wigginton homered and drove in four runs.
