Century School students recently finished their mural at 825 Vt., and they will unveil it during a public reception from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The students worked with teacher Tim Holtzclaw on the project that stirred up some controversy last year when Lawrence city commissioners approved the mural, even though the Lawrence Arts Commission refused to recommend it.

Commissioners said the project didn’t follow the proper process for receiving a city permit, but said that it appeared no harm was done. The project follows the theme “Everything connects to everything else.”
