Royals’ Sanders on DL

Kansas City, Mo. – The Kansas City Royals placed outfielder Reggie Sanders on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a right thigh strain. His roster spot went to right-hander Runelvys Hernandez, who started Friday night’s game against the Los Angeles Angels.

L.A.’s Duncan penalized

New York – Dodgers first base coach Mariano Duncan was suspended for two games and fined by Major League Baseball on Friday for his actions against in a game against Arizona, which included a memorable hat-throwing protest.

Wickman joins Braves

Philadelphia – Atlanta acquired Bob Wickman for minor league catcher Max Ramirez on Thursday, and the 37-year-old right-hander joined the Braves on Friday before their four-game series against the Phillies. Wickman said he vetoed other deals before agreeing to this one.
