Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for July 22, 1906: “A delivery horse belonging to Searles Bros. meat market became frightened on New Hampshire Street this morning and ran west on Warren to Massachusetts street, where it collided with a horse driven by Mrs. R.T. Raybourn. Mrs. Raybourn’s buggy was demolished and her infant child was thrown out of the seat on to the mother’s horse and then fell back to the brick pavement. Almost miraculously, the child was not hurt.”
