Army Capt. Thomas Brenton has assumed command of Headquarters Battalion, Fires Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas. Brenton, a fire control officer with 13 years of military service, is the son of Ronald and Patty Brenton, Lawrence.

The captain received a bachelor’s degree in 1996 from Kansas University.
