LDS bishop announced

The local ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has new leadership.

Kevin Young, of Baldwin, was selected as the new bishop for the church’s Wakarusa Valley Ward, which includes 400 members of the LDS church in Lawrence, Eudora and Baldwin.

Young works at Lumber One in De Soto. He replaces Doug Von Feldt, who is moving to Lamar, Mo.

Young’s counselors are GR Gordon-Ross of Lawrence and Pat Pouliot of Baldwin.
