By 1981, 30 years later, officials said there was no chance for another flood of the 1951 magnitude because of the establishment of such reservoirs as Tuttle Creek, Perry and Pomona, with Clinton Lake on the way. In all, there had been 93 dam and lake projects completed in 10 years with 12 more already being created.
