Many white collar employees are finding that their vacation time is business as usual whether or not they’re at the office, according to one survey.
More than a third of employees believe that there’s an even-or-better chance of them logging in work hours while on vacation. Despite their dedication, one-fourth of their bosses won’t ever acknowledge their efforts.
The survey was conducted by Adecco, a temporary and permanent staffing firm, and polled 2000 adults in June.
To leave work stress behind, Adecco North America President Ray Roe offers these tips:
¢ Manage your workload. Identify the projects to co-workers and your boss that will need upkeep during your absence.
¢ Communicate. Talk with your bosses about how to manage your work while you’re gone.
¢ Do unto others. Respect your co-workers’ time off and they will do the same for you. Volunteer to take on some of your co-workers’ work while they’re gone, and don’t call them during their vacations.
