Temperatures stay below average

Expect a beautiful, sunny Thursday, says Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

“Grab those sunglasses. We have all sunshine in the forecast,” Schack said.

Temperatures will stay below average, climbing to a high of only 85 degrees, Schack said. The average high temperature for this date is 90 degrees. The record high was 105 degrees, set in 1939.

At 7:15 a.m., Lawrence Municipal Airport’s temperature was 59 degrees, the humidity was 90 percent and winds were from the west at 3 mph.

This morning’s low temperature was 56 degrees. The average low temperature for this date is 69 degrees. The record low was 54 degrees, set in 1967.

“We’ll have plenty of sunshine not only today, but it will last until tomorrow,” Schack said.

Friday’s morning low will be 57 degrees, climbing to 88 degrees on Friday afternoon, she said. Skies will be mostly sunny, she said.

Saturday will also be mostly sunny, with the morning low starting at 63 degrees and eventually reaching 92 degrees, she said.
