The death of a Baldwin man appeared to be a hit-and-run traffic accident, sheriff Rex Johnson said. The body of Brent H. Walking Eagle, 24, had been discovered in the roadway near 31st and Haskell by a motorist who had run over the body, thinking at first it was debris left by an overnight storm. An autopsy, however, indicated Walking Eagle, a school janitor in Gardner, was dead before he was hit by the car and that he had been hit earlier by another vehicle.
