Oskaloosa ? Jefferson County commissioners this morning voted 2-1 in favor of keeping the Lecompton bridge open during major repairs next year.

Commissioners Lynn Luck and David Christy want the bridge left open to one lane while Commissioner Francis Grollmes voted to close the bridge.

Last week Douglas County commissioners vote 2-1 to close the bridge during the repairs.

Because the bridge spans the Kansas River and the county line, the leaders of the two counties will have to get together to reach an agreement.
