Topeka ? More than 300 soldiers of the Kansas National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 635th Armor Regiment will return today from Kosovo.

The soldiers will return to Forbes Field, where a welcoming ceremony is set for 4:30 p.m. in a hangar at the 190th Air Refueling Wing.

“Whenever our soldiers and airmen return from deployment and I see them get off the plane, I always feel a swell of pride,” said Maj. Gen. Tod Bunting, Kansas adjutant general.

The returning unit is a tank battalion headquartered in Manhattan with units in Junction City, Emporia and Lenexa.
