Forum to address intelligent design

The lawyers who successfully battled to keep the teaching of intelligent design out of Dover, Pa., public science classrooms will speak Saturday at a forum titled “Intelligent Design, Kansas Science Education, and the Law.”

The event, presented by Kansas Citizens for Science and the National Center for Science Education, will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Dole Institute of Politics on Kansas University’s west campus.

Attorneys for the Dover plaintiffs, Eric Rothschild, Steve Harvey and Richard Katskee, will speak. Jack Krebs, president of Kansas Citizens for Science, will also speak.

There will be a question-and-answer session with the speakers, joined by Steve Case, assistant director of the Center for Science Education at KU.
