Warming into 50s today

You’ll need to wear a coat in the early part of the day, but you might be carrying it this afternoon, says Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

“Our temperatures are soaring into the mid 50s,” Schack said. “It looks like a wonderful Wednesday.”

At 12:15 p.m., the temperature was 44 degrees, the humidity was 32 percent and winds were calm. The average low for this date is 20 degrees and the average high is 40. The record high is 70, set in 1981. The record low is minus 12, set in 1905.

Temperatures will climb to a high of 56 degrees by this afternoon, with sunny skies, Schack said. Winds will be from the south at 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight, skies will be mostly clear, but clouds will begin rolling in and the temperature will fall to a low of 33 degrees by early Thursday morning, Schack said.

Another windy day is expected Thursday, with cloudy skies and the chance for an isolated shower, she said.

Thursday’s high temperature will be 56 degrees, with winds from the south at 10 to 18 mph, gusting up to 30 mph, Schack said.

Thursday night’s skies will be partly cloudy, with the low temperature falling to 38 degrees by early Friday morning, she said.

Friday’s high will be 54 degrees, with partly cloudy skies, she said.
