Second-half surge lifts Iowa past Indiana

? Adam Haluska scored 20 points, Greg Brunner added 17, and Iowa opened the second half with a 14-0 run in a 73-60 victory over No. 13 Indiana on Tuesday night.

The Hawkeyes (15-5 overall, 4-2 Big Ten) held the Hoosiers to their lowest point total of the season and improved to 3-0 at home against Top 25 teams this season. Iowa, coming off a 30-point loss Saturday at Michigan State that knocked them out of the Top 25, responded with perhaps its best effort of the season.

The Hawkeyes held Indiana, which came into the game second in the nation in field-goal percentage at 51.6, to 37 percent shooting.

Robert Vaden was 8-for-12 from three-point range and had a career-high 26 points for the Hoosiers (12-4, 4-2), who played without guard Marshall Strickland because of a knee injury.

Tampa, Fla. – Randy Foye scored 19 of his 24 points in the second half, and Villanova overcame horrendous shooting to beat South Florida.

No. 21 Georgetown 85, Notre Dame 82, 2OT

South Bend, Ind. – Darrel Owens and Roy Hibbert each scored 18 points, and Georgetown followed its victory over Duke with a double-overtime victory over Notre Dame.
