Seahawks sweep Heritage Christian

January 25, 2006

— Pressure defense helped Seabury Academy's boys basketball squad pull away in the first half Tuesday and rout Topeka Heritage Christian, 57-35.

Grayson Dillon scored 16, and Scott King and Adam Davis each added 10 for the Seahawks, who led, 35-9, at halftime.

"We played pretty well," Seabury coach Marcus Heckman said. "We don't typically try to force tempo and use defensive pressure to produce offensive points, but tonight, we did."

Seabury (6-7) will play host Feb. 3 to Flint Hills Christian.

Topeka - Lindsey Ahlen scored 24, more than the rest of her team combined, to lead Seabury. Ahlen went 10-for-14 from the field and grabbed three boards as Seabury earned its first victory since Christmas break.

"We've been on a pretty big downslide since Christmas break ended, but we finally got a win and turned things around," Seahawks coach Nick Taylor said. "We played pretty well tonight."

Seabury (5-8) will play host Feb. 3 to Flint Hills Christian.
