Former Kansas University baseball coach Bobby Randall has been named hitting and third base coach of the Lincoln Saltdogs, an independent league team.

Randall, who lives in Lawrence, spent the two seasons as a coach in the Milwaukee Brewers organization – last year at Helena, Mont., and in 2004 at Indianapolis.

Randall, who played five seasons as an infielder for the Minnesota Twins, was KU’s head coach from 1995 to 2002.
