Campbell tops Hope by four

? Chad Campbell shot a 4-under 68 on Friday to take a four-stroke lead after the third round of the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.

Campbell, coming off a second-place tie last week in the Sony Open in Hawaii, had a 19-under 197 total in the 90-hole event. He had his first bogey of the tournament on his 17th hole of the day, No. 8 on the Arnold Palmer Course at PGA West, to end a string of 60 consecutive holes without a bogey.

Scott Verplank (65) and John Senden (68) were tied for second. Phil Mickelson, the 2002 and 2004 winner who is making his first start of the year, had a 68 that left him six shots back at 13 under in a fourth-place tie with Pat Perez (70).
