From the Lawrence Daily World for Jan. 20, 1906: “The University of Nebraska is now negotiating with KU to play two basketball games in Lincoln during the coming month. Athletic relations have been resumed between the two schools after a period of displeasure because KU thought Nebraska was using paid football players. : The World regularly gets anonymous communications roasting somebody but does not print such material. There is no meaner cowardice than anonymous charges. : Roy McNutt was arrested this afternoon for stealing books from the university library. For some time, books have been missed but no thief could be found until attempts to sell books at local stores, books which had come from the university.
