Hooper at Clinic: Former Lawrence High baseball standout Kevin Hooper of the Detroit Tigers organization will headline the Turnin’ Two Baseball Clinic Jan. 29 at LHS. For information, call Brad Stoll at 832-8284.

¢ LHS Soccer Clinic: Lawrence High’s girls soccer players and staff will conduct a clinic for youths in grades 2-8 on Feb. 11 and on Feb. 18 in the LHS main gym. For information, call Matt Anderson at 832-5050.

¢ Aquahawks Report: Zach Andregg, Heather Cistola, Nathan Evers, Hunter Robinson and Adam Winter of the Lawrence Aquahawks won five events apiece at the True Blue Igloo swim meet Jan. 6-8 in Topeka. Four-event winners for the Aquahawks were Ethan Fisher, Stacey Rudman and Chase Torgerson. Molly Albrecht, Canaan Campbell, Mitch Moore, Ashley Robinson and Alyssa Rudman captured three races each.

¢ Wrestling Medalists: Amanda Morris, Emaleigh Clark and Deidre Housworth of Lawrence Prairie Fire Girls Wrestling Club earned gold medals at the Atchison Open. The club’s Madison Reams, Dottie Housworth, Kayla Gore, Payton Covert and Shelby Bowman had second-place finishes. Jessica Bowman collected a third-place. Other placers were Alexandra Clark, Taylor Young and Bailey Knowlton.

¢ LGA Takes Fifth: Lawrence Gymnastics Academy Level 6 girls finished fifth in team scoring at the Folger’s New Year Invitational in Wichita. In the all-around, Annie Soderberg earned a second place, Rachel Rasmussen a fourth and Rosie Schaumburg and Abbey Bays each finished sixth.
