KU students create dolls for hurricane victims

In response to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Ministry of Sculpture, a Kansas University student sculpture club, has created nearly 100 wooden dolls to donate to hurricane victims.

The project started in November 2005, when the group of about a dozen students worked with the School of Fine Arts’ Cotter Mitchell to make the dolls.

Sarah Heath, founder and current president of Ministry of Sculpture, said the organization was researching methods to transport the dolls in time for Mardi Gras.
