Happy Time Squares square dance club will have its first dance from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. today in Building 21 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. Officers of the Kansas Square Dance Assn. and the Northeast Kansas Square Dance Assn. will be guests. There will be a Grand March and a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:15 p.m.
Eight couples gathered in August, fulfilled the preliminary requirements to establish a square dance club in the Northeast District, and have 78 members at present.

University Bridge Club announces winners of its Jan. 7 game. Hosts were Mary Kanous and Vera Hadl. Blue winners were: Lois Liebert, first; Tom Waller, second; Dale Kring, third; Gladys Dight, fourth; and Paul Jordan, fifth. Playing North-South, Kent McCullough and Larry Bodle won first in A. Jeane Landry and Lynn Hui won second in A, and Harry Talley and Don Daugherty won third in A and first in B and C. Ann Thompson and Grant Sutton won second in B and C. Mike Lee and Sam Pierron won first in A, B and C playing East-West. Ed Howard and James Masilamani won second in A and Barbara Merriam and Dorothy Netson won third in A and second in B. Mike and Rhonda Montgomery won second in C, third in B and fourth in A.

Margrete Hartman and Betty Spalsbury won first in A, B and C playing North-South. Phyllis Brownlee and Sally Davis won second in A and B and Eldon Herd, and Kent McCullough won third in A. Harriet Olson and Linda Heavin won third in B and second in C. At East-West, Nita Scales and Carol Ball won first in A, B and C. Paul Heitzman and Dave Piro won second in A, followed by Julia Brooks and Mona Bell in third. Shirley Reese and Shirlie Vaughn won second in B and Ginny Johnson and Marge Hedges won third in B and second in C.

At North-South, Harry Talley and Don Daugherty won first in A, B and C, followed by Judy Hildreth and Dianne Childes who won second in A. Janice Hollowell and Patt Radford won third in A, and Linda Heavin and Harriet Olson won second in B and C. At East-West, Nita Scales and Carol Ball won first in A, B and C. Ilse Steinhardt and Jolene Andersen won second in all three strata. Ed Howard and Grant Sutton won third in A. Clarice Broz and Bebe Huxtable won third in B and C.
