¢ Youth bowling: Lawrence Youth Bowling leagues will start Saturday and Sunday at Royal Crest Lanes, located at 9th and Iowa. Meetings for all Saturday leagues will start at 8:45 a.m., followed by league play. The Sunday afternoon youth league will meet at 1 p.m., and the Sunday adult/youth league will meet at 6 p.m. Youth bowlers who have yet to sign up can do so at these meetings and are required to arrive 15 minutes before their league meeting. League play will run through April. Bumper bowling is also available at 9:15 a.m. for first-time youth bowlers ages 7 and under. For more information, call Royal Crest Lanes at 842-1234.

¢ Top grapplers: The Lawrence Coyotes Wrestling Club turned in a number of strong performances at a pair of events last weekend. Dylan Housworth (first), Trever Fanshier (second), Josh Gimlin (second) and Aaron Rosenstengle (fourth) finished with top honors Saturday at the Woods Classic in Chanute. Gimlin continued his medal haul the next day, winning his weight Sunday at the Bonner Springs Novice. Other winners included Collin McKee, Corbin Schmidt, Logan Harrell and Thomas Reams. Cy Burhart finished second, and Collin Decker and Riley Buller were each fourth.

¢ Getting their kicks: Daniel Chance, Logan Sloan, Ash Sharifan and Will Burg of the RCFC Fire 3v3 soccer team will be participating in the Kick-It 3v3 World Championships in Orlando, Fla., January 14-16. All four players are from the Kaw Valley Force White U-14 soccer team.

¢ Wheelchair hoops: The Kansas Wheelhawks wheelchair basketball organization will play host this weekend to an invitational tournament featuring the top four teams in the Midwest Conference. The Wheelhawks will join Madonna Magin (Nebraska), Kansas City Thunder, St. Louis Rams and Houston Rolling Rockets in a full round-robin format at Holcom Sports Complex. Six games are scheduled Saturday and four Sunday.
