Eudora subdivision proposal withdrawn
A proposal to develop 80 acres into a rural subdivision southwest of Eudora that would feature estate-style homes was withdrawn this afternoon.
Douglas County commissioners had been scheduled to take up the matter during their meeting tonight. The Travis Morgan Sr. family had requested a rezoning that would lead to the subdivision development, but the proposal had met with great opposition from neighbors. Nearby residents have argued that the development would dangerously increase traffic and destroy the rural area.
A representative of LandPlan Engineering, the firm that has worked with the Morgans on the proposal, will attend the commission meeting to answer questions. The meeting starts at 6:35 p.m. in the Douglas County Courthouse.
