January 9, 2006

From the Lawrence Daily World for Jan. 9, 1906: "Apparently there was no serious damage from the earthquake that shook many parts of Kansas, including Lawrence, two nights ago. : Prof. Dyche of the university is active in cross-breeding of chickens and is now in Topeka at a meeting with poultry people. He has been working on the project for years and many are interested. : Kansas is to take part in a track meet in Kansas City but the local athletes are badly handicapped due to lack of an indoor training facility here."
