Soldier charged with sexual assaults

? A man who recently returned from military duty in Iraq has been charged with cutting, choking and sexually assaulting three women, including at least two who worked as prostitutes.

James D. Baldwin, 35, of Olathe, Kan., faces nine felony counts, including rape, sodomy, assault and unlawful use of a weapon. The assaults occurred in June, August and November of 2004, Jackson County Prosecutor Mike Sanders announced Thursday.

DNA linked him to one of the attacks, according to court documents.

The prosecutor’s office has requested a $250,000 cash-only bond.
